CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS UPDATE – DECEMBER 2025
SINGLES
On Friday 5th December, the semifinal of the Men’s Singles event was held. There was excellent bowling in both matches which were very tightly contested and went to about 25 ends. In the finish, John McCabe defeated Neil Allsopp and Don Morelli defeated Kent Davey. Congratulations to all players for their efforts and providing such an excellent contest. Best wishes to John and Don who will play off in the final which will be held on Sunday January 11th. Also playing on that day will be Gail Kerr and Inez McCabe who are contesting the Women’s Singles.
We hope that lots of members come along to support the bowlers and make it a great club day. As usual there will be sausages available on the day.
MEN’S AND WOMEN’S PAIRS
In the Men’s Pairs event, Neil Allsopp and Peter Beasley defeated Don Morelli and Kent Davey, and John McCabe and Chris Holloway defeated John Moody and David Gamble. Well done to all players on entertaining games. Neil Allsopp and Peter Beasley will now play John McCabe and Chris Holloway in the final of the Men’s Pairs on Thursday 22nd January next year.
In the Women’s Pairs, Marl Williams and Cherly Hudson defeated Gladice Walton and Kathie Brown to book their spot in the final. Well done to all the players. Inez McCabe and Alice Aumann are yet to play Sandie Paterson and Gail Kerr for the other spot in the final. We will let you know when this match is to be played. The final is scheduled to be played on Thursday 22nd January, with the Men’s Final.
MIXED PAIRS
Matches for this event were started on Sunday 30 November but had to be completed later in the week due to bad weather. In the matches that were played, Neil Allsopp and Wilma Hill defeated Inez and John McCabe and Val and Don Morelli defeated Stuart Patrick and Deb Bollem. Well done to all players. Neil Allsopp and Wilma Hill will now play Val and Don Morelli for a spot in the final and we will let you know when this is scheduled.
The match between the team of Gail Kerr and Gavin Wall against the team of Sandie Paterson and David Gamble will be played on Friday 12th December at 10am. The other match on this side of the draw, between Kent and Di Davey and Alice Aumann and Peter Ritchie is yet to be scheduled, and we will let you know when this is finalised. The winners will take the other spot in the final.
Come along and support your teammates who are playing on the various days.
During January next year, we will be putting out sign up sheets for the Open Triples, Open Fours and the Men’s and Ladies’ 100 Up events.

MEN’S AND WOMEN’S PAIRS
Round 1 of the Men’s and Women’s pairs event was held on Sunday 16 November 2025 in very wet, trying conditions. In the Women’s match, Marl Williams & Cheryl Hudson won against Gladice Walton & Kathie Brown. The match between Inez McCabe & Alice Aumann and Sandie Paterson & Gail Kerr was postponed. In an exciting men’s match that went down to the last bowl, John McCabe & Chris Holloway defeated Stuart and Steve Patrick.
Round 2 of this event will be on Thursday 27 November starting at 10:00 am.

Round 1 of this event is scheduled for this Sunday 16th November 2025. Don’t forget to be ready for a 10:15am rollup. Due to the odd number of men’s teams only one men’s match needs to be played this Sunday and that is John Moody and David Gamble Vs Stuart and Steve Patrick.
The women’s matches will be: Gladice Walton & Kathie Brown Vs Marl Williams & Cheryl Hudson and Inez McCabe & Alice Aumann Vs Sandie Paterson & Gail Kerr.
If any player has a problem with Sunday, please let us know asap.

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS UPDATE – OCTOBER 2025
MIXED PAIRS
Round 1 of the mixed pairs was held on Thursday 23 October and 2 matches were played. Again, there was lots of good bowling to watch and thank you to the members and family who came to watch and support the bowlers. The team of Inez and John McCabe was successful against Neil Young and Gladice Walton and Kent and Di Davey were successful against Peter Beasley and Marl Williams.
Round 2 of the Mixed Pairs will be held on Sunday November 9 at the usual time of 10:15 am rollup, so please be there by just past 10 am so that we can start on time.
The draw will be available on Saturday in the Admin area of the club and a PDF version is attached below. Please let Val and Don know if you have any problems reading this attachment. If there is a problem with any team playing on the day, please let us know so that we can work out a solution.
MEN’S & WOMEN’S PAIRS
A reminder that we would like more entries for the Men’s and Women’s Pairs as there are only a few entries in each one. The closing date for entries for these events is Tuesday 11 November. The first round of matches is to be played on Sunday 16, arriving at 10:00am for a 10:15am start.
Club members are encouraged to come along to support the players and the Club.
