Golf

The 18-hole, 6000m golf course is demanding and challenging for golfers of all standards as it winds its way through tree-lined fairways, backed by stunning views of the Yarra Valley. We encourage golfers of all ages and abilities and the Club endeavours to continually make improvements that will provide the best possible playing conditions all year round.

Weekly competitions are run for Men, Ladies, the over 55’s, Junior Golfers and Cadet golfers. Mixed events are on the first Sunday of each month. Tuesday is Ladies day, Wednesday we have our Mid-week competition, which is arranged by the Golf Professional. On Thursday during the Daylight savings period, there is a Twilight event and on Friday is the Senior's competition. Saturday is set aside for our Men’s major events and occasional guest days, our lady members are welcome to have a hit and join in the social fun after the round.

The Golf Committee and Golf Professional offer members a range of challenging and fun events or you can simply come to the Club and have a casual round or two.

The events organised for members are varied almost weekly with Stroke, Stableford, Par, Four ball and some novelty events featuring on our fixture. This develops a huge amount of interest and an extra challenge into your golfing experience. Don’t worry if you don’t know how to play these strange games, as the members and committee are more than willing to pass on their expertise.

One reason to join Chirnside Park is that after you have submitted five 18-hole score cards you will be issued with your Australian handicap, this will be listed in the computer and each time you play your handicap will be updated. Once you have your handicap you will be eligible to play in amateur tournaments throughout Australia, most of these competitions are posted on the Club notice boards.

By far the best reason to join is for social enjoyment. The staff and members at Chirnside Park go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome and part of the Club. The convivial nineteenth hole is a feature of the Saturday golf program with many a poor round of golf becoming a sub-par championship round after in depth discussions with fellow members. You can even meet your wife, husband or your entire family at the club after the game and make a day of it, have a meal in the Bistro, relax in the Entertainment Lounge, or just enjoy everything that membership has to offer.

See you there!
